Emergency Plumbing repairs

Emergency Plumber Garston – We received a call from one of our customers in the Garston area who was concerned about water seeping up through his laminate floor. We made arrangements to come out to the customers home to have a look at the problem. After a quick look around I decided the leak was under the floor and was probably a leaking lead pipe which isn’t uncommon in properties of this age.

We returned to the property a week or so later to start work on finding and repairing the leaking pipe, we had to remove a good section of the kitchen flooring to try to pin point the exact location of the problem. Eventually after a bit of digging we pinpointed the leak under the floor of what used to be the back room prior to the building being extended.

The leak was in an old branch off of the cold water main that had fed and outside toilet or tap. The pipe had been cut and blanked probably by the builders that done the extension work but we cant say for sure. The plumbing work was awful and it isn’t a wonder it leaked.

To save the customer the massive upheaval of digging up the kitchen floor we decide to by pass the lead pipe work and install new 25mm alkathene pipe from the front door to under the stairs, then from that point new copper pipe into the kitchen. Job done.
